The Silicon Valley Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 52 and the Milpitas Police Officers Association decorated a tree last week at Dave & Buster's Restaurant at Great Mall to show respect for police officers killed in the line of duty this year.
Dave & Buster's management agreed to place a duplicate of the Fallen Officer Tree -- the original one is located in downtown San Jose's Plaza de Cesar Chavez -- in the restaurant lobby so the public can see the names of the fallen officers.
On Dec. 9, Eric Emmanuel, president of Milpitas Police Officers Association, Robert Lopez, president of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 52, and Danielle Pirslin, community outreach director for the association and Lodge 52, were among those who helped decorate the tree.
"You will see the beautifully decorated tree in the lobby of Dave & Buster's Restaurant, with the 119 ornaments of our lost police officers for 2015," Pirslin said. "If any other officers pass between now and New Year's, an ornament is made and sent to the police agencies to give to the family."
She said anyone can make a donation toward a fallen officer of their choice.
